St Mary's Church, Cogges, is an evangelical church on the east side of Witney in West Oxfordshire.
The life of the church in Cogges revolves around worship of God and celebration of His love for us. A range of modern and traditional services, together with a flourishing children's and young people's work, offer opportunities for celebration and for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ - "the same, yesterday, today and forever".

St. Mary the Virgin

St Mary the Virgin Church Green Witney

http://www.witneyparish.org.uk

St Mary's is Witney's parish church, the home of services for Witney Feast, Remembrance Day and the Mayor's Carol Service at Christmas. Many people come here for weddings, christenings and funerals. Many more come for concerts and other events throughout the year. It is one of the churches of the Parish of Witney, and you can find more information about events and church life by following the link.

We are an inclusive church embracing a hospitable Christianity, committed to living our lives in the love, joy and hope of the risen Christ. We are here to worship God and to help each other to grow in faith. If you would like to come along or get in touch with us, we will be delighted to welcome you.

The church building of St Mary's is huge and very old, one of the oldest buildings in Witney and one of the biggest in West Oxfordshire. Its origins go back to Norman times but the present building is mostly 13th century and was dedicated in 1243. Standing on Church Green near the town centre, and with its spire a landmark for miles around, it is hard to miss.

The parish of Witney is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Oxford's safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
