This splendid 17th century Baroque building housed a courtroom for assizes, raised on arches over a market space. It now houses the Abingdon Museum.

Traditionally a monarch and his courtiers petrified by a witch, the Rollright Stones consist of three groups: the King's Men stone circle; the Whispering Knights burial chamber; and the single King Stone. They span nearly 2,000 years of Neolithic and Bronze Age development.

St Mary's is Witney's parish church, the home of services for Witney Feast, Remembrance Day and the Mayor's Carol Service at Christmas. Many people come here for weddings, christenings and funerals. Many more come for concerts and other events throughout the year. The church building of St Mary's is huge and very old, one of the oldest buildings in Witney and one of the biggest in West Oxfordshire. Its origins go back to Norman times but the present building is mostly 13th century and was dedicated in 1243. Standing on Church Green near the town centre, and with its spire a landmark for miles around, it is hard to miss.
